The ambitious and much awaited Global Investors Meet kick started in Bangalore today. The luminaries from the global and Indian industry namely Laxshmi Nivas Mittal, Kumara Mangalam Birla, Azim Premji, Dr.Vijay Mallya, Shashi Ruia, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Devi Prasad Shetty, Sajjan Jindal and many others were present on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa informed that nearly 400 investors will be signing MOU with an investment of about 3.5 lakh crore rupees generating employment for over 6.5 lakh people during the meet. Among the dignitaries present during the inauguration, the Union Law and Justice Minister Veerappa Moily said India is showing signs of rapid growth as the global economy hit the path of recovery. He suggested that irrespective of party affiliations, we should strive for the growth of the country. Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahai lauded the progress achieved by the state and asked the investors to take up projects that improves rural infrastructure and logistics. The steel magnate of the world Lakshmi Nivas Mittal lauded the country for achieving GDP growth rate of more than 7%. He said the proposal to set up six million tonne steel plant in Karnataka is progressing well. The leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, Member of Parliament Ananth Kumar,Dr. Kasturirangan, Member of Planning Commission and the Cabinet Ministers from the State were present on this occasion. <br/>
