Global conference on Women in Agriculture today

A 3-day global conference on Women in Agriculture begins in New Delhi today. Addressing the media in New Delhi today, the Direcor General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, ICAR, S. Ayyappan said that researchers, policy makers, women farmers and other stakeholders will deliberate on the prevailing and emerging gender issues in agriculture and food systems during the conference.

An innovative market place-cum-exhibition will also be organized showcasing potential technologies, achievements, knowledge and ideas relating to women in agriculture. AIR correspondent reports that about 450 participants from more than 50 foreign countries will attend the conference.
