The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is keen to have an election in the area after the inclusion of the Terai and the Dooars region into the Gorkha Territorial Authority (GTA). This was stated after a meeting of a five member committee headed by the General Secretary of GJM Mr. Roshan Giri and the Home and Chief Secretary of the state Mr. Samar Ghosh at the Writers’ Buildings in Kolkata today.Mr. Geii said that a deputation on the issue has been submitted to the state Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee. In reply to a question, Mr. Roshan Giri said that his party is waiting for the report by the commission heeded by retired Justice Mr. Shymal Sen, on the inclusion of the Dooars and the Terai regions in the GTA.
