The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, GJM asked the Centre to initiate a dialogue on the demand for a separate Gorkhaland, saying it was not a mere law and order problem.<br/><br/>GJM general secretary Roshan Giri told reporters in Darjeeling yesterday that a separate state was the aspiration of the people in the hills and the Centre should open a dialogue and take concrete steps.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the West Bengal District Administration extended the restriction imposed on internet services for another eight days in Darjeeling, to halt rumours from spreading through social media. <br/><br/>The boarding schools of Darjeeling, which were scheduled to reopen today, have extended their vacation due to the indefinite shutdown in the hills.<br/><br/>
