Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi today said, to remove corruption, the political system in the country should give a strong voice to the people. He said this while addressing a Youth Congress membership drive rally at Ampati in Garo Hills District in Meghalaya.

Mr. Gandhi said the change in the structure of the Youth Congress from nominated members to elected members will give an opportunity for youngsters to participate in politics at the Centre and fight elections. He asked the youths to participate in Central level politics so that they could have a voice at the centre leading to faster development in the state. Mr. Gandhi also lauded the matrilineal society in Meghalaya and said the pro-active role played by the women in Meghalaya has set an example for the whole country.
