The Centre has asked state governments to forward names of officers for deputation under the Central Staffing Scheme for 2017. In a letter to chief secretaries of the states, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has said the names should be compiled in such a manner that every eligible officer has an opportunity to serve the Centre at least once at the middle management level.<br/><br/> The names have to be sent by 31st of next month. The DoPT letter emphasises that the movement of officers from states to the Centre and back is crucial for building capabilities at the state-level. This would also contribute towards developing national perspective at the decision making levels in the government. The DoPT letter further asks the states to sponsor sufficient names of women and SC and ST officers for central deputation with the aim to provide them adequate representation.
