The Sports Minister, Dr M S Gill today met 2010 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman, Mr Suresh Kalmadi to discuss the issues that have hit the capital's preparation for the event. Mr Kalmadi met the sports minister at his residence today. Dr Gill took stock of the progress of preparations and discussed the contentious issues that have the Organising Committee and the Commonwealth Games Federation at loggerheads. After the meeting, the sports minister said he would speak to the Commonwealth Games Federation chief Mr Mike Fennel in this regard. Mr Fennell, soon after the CGF general assembly earlier this month, made it clear that the organisers needed to pull up their socks and fast-track their preparations if the capital is to deliver on its commitment of putting on the best Commonwealth Games ever .
