The Madhya Pradesh government has announced to give noted classical singer Ustaad Ghulaam Mustafa and Pandit Ajay Pohankar its National Tansen Samman for year 2008-09 and 2009-10 respectively. The award will be given to both the singers on 5th December in Gwalior during Tansen festival. National Tansen Samman recipient gets two lakh rupees and a citation from state government. Madhya Pradesh government's National Kaalidas Samman for the year 2008-09 would be given to noted singer Pandit Channulal Mishra.
