Germany will extend its expertise to India in accomplishing Smart City Mission. It has expressed its willingness to contribute to Smart City Programme in Bhubaneswar, Kochi and Coimbatore. State Secretary in German Ministry of Building, Gunther Adler met with his Indian counterpart in Ministry of Urban Development in New Delhi and discussed cooperation in assisting the Indian cities. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi, German Ambassador to India, Martin Ney, highlighted that Germany is an ideal partner in India's endeavour to create smart cities as it has expertise in planning for urban centres. He said Germany has developed technologies and processes to turn Indian cities to green cities. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports the European nation has been supporting initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, National Mission for Clean Ganga, and AMRUT, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban and Transformation. India is the biggest partner of Germany's development cooperation programme, receiving a record assistance of 11 thousand crore rupees in 2015.
