Germany has asked Pakistan to come clean on complicity of its army and secret services in supporting Al Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden. Talking to media persons in New Delhi on Friday, the German Ambassador Thomas Motussak said that it is necessary that the power structure in Pakistan clarifies its stand on terrorists as some elements may still be supporting terror structures. He said, it is very important in the backdrop of the fact that in the long run Germany can only work with a peaceful, stable and democratic Pakistan.On Afghanistan, Mr. Motussak said that Germany is in favour of long haul in the war torn country. Calling it a beginning, he said that by 2014, German forces will pull out of Afghanistan after transferring necessary skills to the people of that country. He said, he is in favour of a peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan. AIR correspondent reports that adding to the high profile visits of representatives from France and US this week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be on a two-day visit to India from Monday. Several agreements are likely to be signed during her visit.
