German hostage, Juergen Kanter, has been beheaded by militants in the Philippines. The Government envoy Jesus Dureza in Manila confirmed the death of the hostage. <br/><br/>Kantner was abducted from his yacht off Malaysia's Sabah state in November last year. His companion Sabine Merz's body was later found on the boat. A deadline for a six-hundred thousand dollar ransom by militant group Abu Sayyaf expired on Sunday.<br/><br/>The German Foreign Ministry in a statement expressed deep shock at the inhuman and gruesome act.<br/>
