German economy growth rate just above zero: Official data

Official figures released in Germany show that the country's economy has a growth rate of just above zero. The 0.3 per cent rise is slightly better than many economists had predicted, a down from the point five per cent registered in the first quarter. The figures show that German economy is slowing markedly, growing at half the pace it was at the start of the year. It is now feeling the effect as the shrinking economies in the Mediterranean countries cut their imports of German goods. New figures also show the French economy-the second biggest in the eurozone-is not growing at all.
