Geo-political situation of India's neighbourhood to change drastically: Fgn Secy

India will have to work more to get positive results in the challenging environment that its neighbourhood presents.

Releasing a book “India's neighbourhood challenges in the next two decades”, in New Delhi today, Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said that the geo-political situation in India's neighbourhood is going to change drastically in the next two decades .

He said that the dividing line between terrorists and trans-nationals is disappearing. He opined that common interests must factor in the policy making of South Asia.

Mr.Mathai said that India's neighbourhoold needs to be viewed in the perspective whether events like Arab spring or rise in oil markets are going to affect traditional or emerging centres of power.

He informed that India is engaged with its extended neighbourhood through various fora and platforms providing seamless continuity in its relationship.
