American Robby Genpri ousted top seed Robin Soderling in the first round of the Chennai open ATP tennis tournament on Tuesday evening. In a match that lasted 1hour 31 minutes world no 100 Genpri weared down world no 8 Soderling in straight sets 6-4, 7-6. The win was also sweet revenge for Genpri , who in his only other match against Soderling at Hamburg in 2007 had gone down. This is the third time that a top seed had exited in the very first round in Chennai Open.Earlier, the first of the three Indian challengers in the main draw, qualifier Prakash Amritraj bowed out losing tamely to another American Michael Russel 3-6 1-6 .
