The 12-hour general strike called by the Central Trade Unions has not affected normal life in the Union Territory of Pudduchhery. Almost all shops, business establishments are open and all transport services are plying as usual. All government offices and schools are functioning normally. However, work in Banks and the BSNL were affected.
