The Army Chief Gen V K Singh is now briefing the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, PAC, today in connection with alleged irregularities in the canteen stores supplies. The PAC had sent them a request to brief the panel on the issue. Air Force Chief and Naval Vice Chief will also brief them later in the day apart from some more officials from the MoD. The Comptroller and Auditor General, CAG, had said in a 2009 report that the canteen stores department’s procurement and distribution of dry rations was faulty. Earlier the CAG had briefed the committee on its report on the 2G Scam.
