A special session court in Assam's Lakhimpur district on Monday rejected the bail petition of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang in the multi-crore PDS scam. The court remanded him to judicial custody till the 11th October. The bail plea was rejected on the ground that Apang had already moved the petition in the Itanagar bench of Gauhati High Court and its hearing is posted on September 30. It was the sixth time that Apang's bail application was rejected.Apang was arrested on August 24 by the Special Investigation Cell for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore PDS scam. He was first remanded to police custody for 14 days and later to judicial custody. The former chief minister is presently staying in the Rama Krishna Mission Hospital in Itanagar with complaints of hypertension and diabetes.
