Former Haryana deputy home minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, who allegedly abetted Geetika Sharma to commit suicide, today evaded the police and did not appear for questioning.

Kanda, owner of the now defunct airlines MDLR with which Sharma used to work as an airhostess, was to present himself before the city police in Ashok Vihar police station.

Sharma was found dead at her Ashok Vihar residence on August 5. A suicide note, accusing Kanda and another employee of the airline for making her life difficult, was also recovered from her room.
