Expecting an upward revision in the first quarter GDP growth rate, NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman, Arvind Panagariya has said the economy will surpass 8 per cent growth in the current financial year. Panagariya said investments were up during the first half of this fiscal, reflecting buoyancy in the economy. He said India's growth numbers are even better than those of China.The Indian economy had grown by 7 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal, down from 7.5 percent growth in the preceding three months.
