The Gaza aid ship MV Rachel Corrie has been docked to Israeli post Ashdod after Israeli soldiers have boarded the ship yesterday, which was bound for the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military said in a statement that troops boarded MV Rachel Corrie after the activists aboard the ship ignored warnings to divert to Ashdod. The statement added that there was no violence or injuries amongst the soldiers or crew and no shots were fired. The "Rachel Corrie" had ignored the Israeli instruction to unload its cargo at an Israeli port and chose to continue its trip toward Gaza. The 1,000 tonnes of cargo will be inspected, preferably by an international force before let it enter in to Gaza. The incident comes at a very sensitive time for Israel, which is struggling with the diplomatic fallout from a deadly raid on a flotilla of Gaza-bound aid boats, which left nine people dead, most of them Turks. The Rachel Corrie had been due to sail with that flotilla but had been delayed for technical reasons.
