Gates orders Army inquiry after Fort Hood killings

The American Defence Secretary, Robert Gates has ordered an investigation into whether the military missed warning signs about the behaviour of the Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan accused of shooting dead thirteen people of the Fort Hood military base earlier this month. Mr. Gates said a former Army secretary and an ex-Navy chief to report in 45 days. Mr. Gates further said the review would look at ways to ensure the safety of military members and their families.
