Gary Kirsten new coach of South Africa cricket team

Former South African Opener Gary Kirsten, who was the coach of India's World Cup winning team, has been appointed as the coach of the South Africa cricket team. This was announced by the Cricket South Africa Chief Executive Officer Gerald Majola at a press conference in Johannesburg on Monday. Gary Kirsten had served as the coach of Team India for three years. He decided to step down from the post in April due to personal reasons.Gerald Majola also announced that AB de Villiers will captain South Africa in the One Day International and Twenty-20 formats of the game. Graeme Smith will lead the Test side. He said that Hashim Amla will assist De Villiers in the ODIs and T-20 games while Graeme Smith will have De Villiers as his deputy in the tests.
