Garbine Muguruza makes shock exit from US Open

In Tennis, Spain's world number three Garbine Muguruza has made a shock exit from the US Open, the fourth and final Grand Slam of the season. The French Open champion was stunned by Latvia's unseeded Anastasija Sevastova in straight sets, 5-7, 4-6 in the second round match last night.Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic also bowed out. The fifth seeded Canadian lost to American Ryan Harrison, 7-6, 5-7, 5-7, 1-6. World number one Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Angelique Kerber, however, progressed to the third round. Today, top seed Serena Williams, her sister Venus Williams, Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka and Agnieszka Radwanska will be seen in action in the second round.Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna, with their team-mates in Mixed Doubles, and Leander Paes in Men's Doubles will play their opening round matches.In Mixed Doubles, top seeds Sania and Ivan Dodig will take on the American team of Taylor Townsend and Donald Young, while Bopanna and his Canadian team-mate Gabriela Dabrowski will meet Noah Rubin and Jamie Loeb, also from America.In Men's Doubles, the Indo-German pair of Leander Paes and Andre Begemann will clash with the French-Israeli team of Stephane Robert and Dudi Sela.Last evening, Sania in Women's Doubles, Bopanna in Men's Doubles, and Paes in Mixed Doubles had advanced to the second round.
