<span style="color: #222222;">Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has said that the scope of internal security has widened due to terrorism, drug, arms and ammunition smuggling. Addressing a Seminar in New Delhi, Mr Bhalla said, earlier national security was limited to military and defence capabilities, but now it is no longer limited to that. He said, the gap between internal security and external threats is decreasing.<br />'' </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Bhalla said, apart from ensuring internal security, Jawans also play an important role in election duties. He said, recently, District Development Council elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the roots of democracy. Home Secretary said, Army and Central Armed Police Forces played an important role in the conduct of the polls.</span>
