A string of protests today erupted in the national Capital Delhi against the gang rape of a medical student. A group of people protested outside the Delhi Police headquaters, demanding action against the accused in the case. Scores of people also gathered at Jantar Mantar in Central Delhi to express their anger against the gruesome crime which took place on Sunday evening. Protesters also gathered at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, where the Police had to resort to water cannon charge to disperse them.
Meanwhile, the condition of the 23-year-old victim continues to be serious.
