Gangotri and Yamnotri portals opened for pilgrims

In Uttarakhand, portals of the shrines of Gangotri and Yamnotri opened on Sunday paving wave for commencement of the Char-Dham yatra. It is estimated that about 20 thousand devotees reached Yamnotri temple for the first day. Elaborate arrangements have been made by the Administration for the pilgrims. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports, amid chanting Veda Mantras, Kapat of the Two Temples were opened after six months. A large number of pilgrims offered prayer at the two temples on the first day of Yatra season. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile, the opening up of the shrine of Kedarnath will take place on Tuesday whereas the portals of Badrinath shrine will open on Wednesday. The Char-Dham yatra collectively comprised pilgrimage to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamnotri shrines in the Garhwal Himalayas.<br/>
