The 10-day Ganesh Festival across the country is coming to a close with the immersion of Ganesh idols with Mumbai taking lead in the celebrations. So far over 14,000 small and big Ganesh idols have been immersed in Mumbai and it's suburbs. Immersion or visarjan processions are being carried out with much fanfare and religious fervor . AIR correspondent reports that the administration has urged all household idols be immersed before midnight, as high tide is expected around midnight.<br/><br/>In Pune, reeling under severe water scarcity, five Ganapati Mandals set an example this year by immersing Idols in Make Shift Tanks instead of Mutha River. This happened first time in the 123 years history of Sarvajanik Ganeshostav in Pune. <br/><br/>In Telangana state, immersion of Ganesh idols is underway smoothly amidst tight security. AIR correspondent reports that over 50 thousand idols are being taken for immersion in several water bodies in and around Hyderabad and a sea of humanity has converged to watch the ceremonies. <br/><br/>In Delhi thousands of devotees took out processions in tempos and private vehicles in different parts of the city with fanfare. Several Ghats have been designated for immersion of idols. <br/> Reports of immersion of Ganesha idols have come from other towns across the country as well.
