In our series on Gandhian philosophy, today we bring you a report on Bapu's Satyagraha. Mahatma Gandhi called his overall method of non-violent action Satyagraha. It consists of two words – Satya and Agraha and translates to ‘insistence on truth’ or holding onto truth. The term satyagraha was coined and developed by Mahatma Gandhiji during his earlier struggles in South Africa for rights of Indians there and later during the Indian independence movement.<br />” <br />”He had said, Satyagraha is a relentless search for truth and a determination to search truth. Gandhiji insisted that a satyagrahi must ceaselessly strive to realize and live truth and he must never contemplate hurting anyone by thought, word or deed.
