Games kitchen has 36,000 varieties of food per day

Over 36 thousand meals per day including Indian, Asian, African, Caribbean and Western cuisines will be served at the Games Village by state of art kitchen prepared especially for the Commonwealth Games. This Kitchen, which served its first meal on Monday, has over 2,500 highly-skilled and trained catering staff to prepare and serve hygienic food for the athletes and delegates. Master Chefs from India and overseas have been hired to prepare the delicacies for the residents of the games Village. Strict food safety measures are put in place to ensure a high quality hospitality service. More than 8,000 athletes and officials are expected to stay at the Games Village for the Sporting extragavanza starting in the national capital from 3rd of next month.
