Games: High tech arrangement for fair play

High tech time keeping systems will be used at the Commonwealth Games to give accurate and fair results. The system—installed by a leading Swiss watch brand— involve some of the best available technologies in the field of timekeeping. The system also uses high-speed cameras, which can record two thousand frames per second to decide the result in extremely tight races through photo-finishes. One such system has been installed at the swanky cycling velodrome of the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium. The track at the velodrome has been fitted with sensors and cameras that are synchronised with the GPS (Global Positioning System) via computers to give the most accurate timing of the cyclists.
