Gambhir hits fighting century against Sri Lanka

On the final day of the Ahmedabad Test, resuming the play at 190 for two, India were 256 for 3 in their second innings against Sri Lanka at Lunch. Gautam Gambhir at 105 and Sachin Tendulkar at 22 were on the crease before the lunch. India lost a wicket today when A Mishra was bowled by Mathews. Two wickets were yesterday taken by Welegedra and Herath of Srilanka. Earlier, Sri Lanka declared their first innings at 760 for seven, securing a lead of 334 runs. Mahela Jayawardana played a classic innings of 275 runs, followed by Prasanna Jayawardana who made 154 runs and remained unbeaten.
