Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat chaired the regional conference of 8 States and 3 UTs on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) on Friday in Jaipur. Ministers and senior officials from Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, D&amp;D and D&amp;NH, J&amp;K and Ladakh are participating in this conference. Addressing to the media Mr. Shekhawat said that the government is working fast on the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide tap water to every household across the country. He said that When Jal Jeevan Mission was launched, only 16.75% of rural households had access to tap water connections. Despite disruptions caused by the pandemic in the last more than 2 years, the country managed to provide more than 6.16 Crore tap water connections. About 9.40 Crore of households in the villages are benefitting from clean drinking water.<br />'' <br />'' <br />''<br />''The Union Minister said that the Central Government has made a budget provision of 60,000 crores for the Swachh Bharat Mission.<br />
