GAIL to lay gas pipeline from Dhabol in M’rashtra

The Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa informed in Bangalore today that Gas Authority of India Limited GAIL will lay gas pipeline from Dhabol in Maharashtra to Bangalore measuring a distance of 800 kms. <br/><br/>The gas pipeline will pass through eleven district of the state. The Chief Minister was speaking after receiving a donation of two crore rupees for the flood relief fund from GAIL in his chamber today. <br/><br/>The pipeline will supply gas to the gas based Electricity generating station being set up in Bidadi near Bangalore Thadadi in Uttara Kannada district. GAIL will take up the project at the cost of Rs.5400 crores and will complete it by March 2012, the Chief Minister said. The State also proposes to set up four more gas based power stations in Belgaum, Gadag, Davangere and Tumkur on PPP modal. The bids for which will be invited to coincide with Global Investors Meet in June.
