Gadkari to lay foundation for four-laning of NH in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, Union Minister for road, transport, Highways Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation for the four-laning of National Highways in Kannya Kumari district today. Union Minister of state Pon Radhakrishnan will be attending the function to be held at Marthandam in the district. <br/><br/>The four laning of national highways at a cost of 2,766 crore rupees will improve the road facilities in Kannya Kumari. Four laning of NH 47 Karodu to Villukuri at a cost of 1274 crore rupees. NH47 B from Nagercoil to Kavalkinaru at a cost of 1042 crore rupees will be implemented to ease the traffic. <br/><br/>Moreover overbridges will be built at Parvathipuram and Marthanadm at a cost of 287 crore rupees. Kannya Kumari being an important tourist destination improvement in road infrastructure is going to boost tourism. Moreover thousands of vehicles including lorries and buses ply to Kerala from Tamil Nadu using National Highway 47.
