Gadkari reviews progress of NHAI projects; calls for speedy implementation

<span style="color: #222222;">Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has directed officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to speed up the implementation of projects through faster decision making and stricter monitoring. Mr. Gadkari held a day-long review of the progress of NHAI projects in New Delhi yesterday. <br />''<br />''Re-emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stress on the need for fast growth of infrastructure, he said, there is an urgent need to develop a positive, transparent and corruption free working system with time bound decision making.  He said, delayed decisions are totally unacceptable as they lead to colossal loss of time and resources. The Minister also directed regional officers to be proactive in coordinating with district officials to fast track land acquisition and other such issues. During the meeting, Mr. Gadkari also talked about the need to bring down construction costs through new technology and innovative means. </span><br />
