Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today inaugurated 53.60 kilometres Manesar-Palwal stretch of 137 kilometres Manesar-Palwal-Kundli expressway. <br/><br/>Manesar-Palwal stretch has been constructed at a cost of 457.81 crore rupees in record time of 11 months. Addressing the audience on this occasion, Mr Gadkari said, the highway will be helpful in reducing the traffic in Delhi to 50 percent. He said, it will also be helpful in lowering the pollution level in Delhi. <br/><br/>The Minister said, from 26 May the road projects worth 2 lakh crore rupees would be launched. He said, during the tenure of BJP government average 20 kilometer per day road is being constructed and stress is on quality construction. He said, government is considering to develop waterways which will help in promoting tourism and also help in reducing the number of road accidents. <br/><br/>On this occasion, he announced to construct elevated road on Palwal National Highway after constructing a bridge on Yamuna in Hasanpur in Palwal district. The Union Minister also announced to construct bypass in Dabwali city as demanded by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said, the construction of 83.32 kilometres Palwal-Kundli section of expressway will be completed in a year.
