BJP President Nitin Gadkari charged Congress of deriving political mileage out of Dr. Ambedkar's name today. Blaming Congress for the plight of Dalits in the country, he alleged that the number of Dalits below the poverty line had doubled since Independence under the Congress Party's rule. Addressing a function in New Delhi on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti, he compared Dr. B.R Ambedkar to Martin Luther King. He said that Dr. Ambedkar struggled throughout his life for the rights of the socially opressed in India the way Martin Luther King fought for the colored population in the USA. Mr. Gadkari also condemned the supporters of the Maosist mindset and urged the Naxalites to derive inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar who worked for a social revolution through constitutional means.<br/>
