A convoy of at least two hundred vehicles carrying forces loyal to Libya's Muammar Gaddafi, crossed into neighbouring Niger as anti-Gaddafi fighters continue to mass outside one of the ousted leader's last strongholds. US State Department confirmed on Tuesday that military vehicles carrying a dozen or more senior military leaders from Col. Gaddafi's Government are headed towards the capital Niamey after moving into Niger late Monday. In Washington, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said, the US does not believe Gaddafi is in the convoy. News agencies quote Niger's Foreign Minister as denying reports Gaddafi is traveling in one of the vehicles.
