The G 77 nations and China asked US President Barack Obama to rise to the challenge of climate change as a Nobel Peace Prize winner and lead his country to join the Kyoto Protocol besides committing to provide financing to "save humanity" from catastrophe.<br/><br/>Chair of the G-77, Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping told this in a news conference at Copenhagen Sudanese diplomat Di-Aping reminded that the US is the world's largest emitter historically and now per capita, and a reduction of four per cent compared to 1990 levels will not help save the world. <br/><br/>The chair of G77 Di-Aping also urged President Obama to get the International Monetary Fund to release USD 200 billion worth of SDR (Special Drawing Rights) to be made available to deal with the threat of climate change, and also asked the US Congress for the same.<br/><br/>
