G20: Third working group on Women 20 Summit commences at Mahabalipuram near Chennai

<span style="color: #212529;">The third and final working group on W-20 began today at Mahabalipuram near Chennai. The first session was on the road to achieving sustainable development goals, the intersection between women's health gender equality social and economic development.<br />''<br />''Addressing the participants, Andrea Wojner, country representative UNFPA-India said that around the world 270 million people are without family planning, and there was a need to prevent maternal deaths. She said that early marriage and mutilation in female bodies raised concerns. She wanted that governments should come forward to address them.<br />''<br />''Dr. Mabel Bianco from Argentina said that women's health should be considered important, and gender empowerment should be taken along with it. She said that little girls of six years of age should be able to learn about sexual abuse and become intelligent enough to speak about it. She said, family should play an important role in supporting the children when rights are talked about. Dr. Aparajitha Gogoi, National Coordinator, White Ribbon Alliance said that developing countries are concerned with sustainable development goals as financing them needs to be talked about. She said that good communication skills to highlight women and empowerment are interlinked with various issues. She said that the private sector needs to play a more positive role in gender-specific planning.</span> <br />'' <br />''The non-executive director of Vedanta group Priya Aggarwal said today that women have the empathy to protect the environment and they have the ability to lead sustainable development initiatives in today's world.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In an exclusive interview with AKASHVANI, she said, women can bring a positive change to the world. Appealing to the younger generation to adopt a lifestyle maintaining ecological standards, Ms. Priya said, there is a necessity to simplify lives to protect and achieve sustainability. She told that W20 has given her an opportunity to learn and spread the message of women-led development. It also provided a platform for discussions, she added. Ms. Priya referred to the Swachh Bharat initiative which was taken up by the Government. The Director of Vedanta mentioned that a lot of job opportunities are available in the sector of environmental protection.</span>
