G-8 call upon all countries to join global disarmament efforts

The group of eight developed nations has called upon all countries, particularly those possessing nuclear weapons, to join disarmament efforts to promote global stability and undiminished security. In a joint declaration after hectic deliberations in Toronto today, the G-8 countries said the group is committed to a safer world for all and to create conditions for a world without nuclear weapons, in accordance with the goals of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.<br/> Welcoming the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan, the G-8 countries appealed to all nations in the region to work together actively in the interests of regional peace and stability. <br/>
