The sixth Summit of the group of 20 industrialised and emerging economies or G-20 has begun at Cannes in France.
The two-day summit is being held in the back drop of the sovereign debt crisis in Eurozone which is likely to dominate the deliberations at the meeting.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is also attending the Cannes Summit.
Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon are among those part of the Indian delegation.
Indian delegation is likely to focus on international monetary system, financial regulations, global governance and restructuring of IMF and World Bank.
India has already made it clear that that the developing economies like India need a conducive global environment to address the challenges they face.
Expressing hope that Summit will evolve a strong and coordinated approach to put the global economy on track, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, leaders of world's 20 leading economies need to ensure that developing countries have access to requisite funds.
Before leaving for Cannes, Dr Singh said, New Delhi will work with other countries to develop effective and representative global governance mechanisms and carry forward the process of reforms in international monetary and financial system.
The Prime Minister will hold two separate bilateral meetings with the British Prime Minister David Cameron and the French President, Nicholas Sarkozy today.
Dr Singh is also scheduled to have meetings with European leader Herman Van Rompuy and Jose Manuel Borrasso and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard tomorrow.
