G-20 Leaders Summit-2021 to begin in Italy from Oct 30; PM Modi to attend summit

The G-20 is the international forum that brings together the world's major economies, extending participation to guest countries and international organizations. Its leadership rotates on an annual basis among its members. Italy assumed the 2021 Presidency on the 1st December 2020.<br />''<br />''The forum has met every year since 1999 and includes, since 2010, a yearly Summit, with the participation of the respective Heads of State and Government.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rome in Italy to attend the G-20 summit.<br />''<br />''The 2021 G-20 Summit, under the Italian Presidency, will focus on three broad, interconnected pillars of action: People, Planet and Prosperity.<br />''<br />''Within these pillars, the G-20 aims to take the lead in ensuring a swift international response to the COVID-19 pandemic – able to provide equitable, worldwide access to diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines – while building up resilience to future health-related shocks.<br />''<br />''The G-20 is made up of 19 countries and the European Union.<br />''<br />''The 19 countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, and the US. </span><br />
