In Bangladesh, five suspected militants of the banned Jamaat-ul Mujahideen group have been arrested following a raid on their training camp. A spokesman for Bangladesh's anti-crime Rapid Action Battalion said the suspects were arrested yesterday in a forest in Khagrachari district, southeast of the capital, Dhaka. He said a large number of weapons have also been recovered from the camp. The group has been blamed for a series of bomb attacks on security forces and civilians in recent years. Reports say it is the first time the security forces have raided a fully-fledged militant training camp. The JMB is one of several radical Islamic groups trying to establish Islamic law in Bangladesh and has been blamed for a series of bombings in 2005.
