The rate of inflation further rose to 0.37 per cent for the week ended September 12, from 0.12 per cent in the previous week, due to rising prices of essential food items. The wholesale price-based inflation had stood at 12.42 per cent during the corresponding week a year ago.On an annual basis, prices of potatoes rose 14.8 per cent, onions about 20 per cent, cereals 11.4 percent, and milk 7.3 per cent.Although inflation continues to remain below one per cent, the 52-week average inflation for the week ended September 12 was 3.22 per cent.
