Funeral of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat to take place on Sunday with full state honours

People from all walks of life are flocking the residence of former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in Jaipur to pay their last respect to the departed leader.<br/> <br/>Mr. Shekhawat died today at Sawai Man Singh hospital in Jaipur after he was admitted there with complains of uneasiness and and breathing trouble. He was 87. His body kept at his bungalow in the Civil lines, will be taken to the BJP office tomorrow, before cremation at Chandpol ground at 10 AM with full state honours. AIR correspondent says that the Rajasthan Government has announced 3 day state mourning. <br/> <br/>The National Flag flies at half mast through out the country today as a mark of respect for Mr. Shekhawat. According to an official spokesmen, in Rajasthan, the National flag will fly at half mast tomorrow as well. Madhya Pradesh government also declared a state mourning for 3 days and Bihar Government for 2 days. <br/> <br/>President, Vice President and Prime Minister have condoled the death of former Vice President. The President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil expressing condolence said that country has lost a great Statesman who was a man of political repute. Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari expressed grief and said that Mr. Shekhawat had a glorious record of service to the country and the people. <br/><br/>Prime Minster Dr.Manmohan singh said Shekhawat stood for his principles. Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani said that the party has lost a great leader and an able administrator. BJP President Nitin Gadkari said, his services to the party will always be remembered. The Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has described Mr.Shekhawat's demise as a loss to the nation and end of an era.<br/> <br/>All India Radio, Delhi will broadcast tonight a programme of Tributes on the demise of Mr. Sekhawat. It will be available from 8.30 p.m. on Indraprasha and Rajdhani channels and all Capital and other stations will relay the programme.
