Fulpati, the seventh day of Dashain festival was celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour in various parts of Nepal today (Wednesday). The main function was held at Basantpur Durbar Square in Kathmandu. The Fulpati was brought to Dashainghar in Basantpur from Jamal in a traditional procession. On this occasion, a special parade was also held in Kathmandu.<br/>'<br/>President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, senior army and government officers also attended the parade. <br/>' <br/>Phool means flower and pati is leaves and plants. Fulpati literally means flowers, leaves and plants. There is a tradition in Nepal to bring nine types of Fulpati into the home on seventh day of Navaratri. It is believed that Fulpati represents nine goddess and they brings health, wealth and prosperity to homes. The tradition started during the rule of King Prithvi Narayan Shah. '<br/>'<br/>Dashain is the biggest festival of Nepal. It began on last Thursday with first day of Navratri but festive fervour gains momentum from the day of Fulpati. All government and private offices have been closed for 6 days from today( Wednesday). Around 18 lakh people have left Kathmandu to celebrate Dashain at their native places with family and relatives.<br/>'<br/>
