Fully satisfied with safety measures at Kudankulam Nuke Plant: Kalam

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam has said he is fully satisfied with the safety measures incorporated in the mega Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Indo-Russian joint venture at Kudankulam on Sunday, Mr. Kalam said this reactor will be safe for all the people around the plant.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, V. Narayansamy said the plant is one of the safest in the country.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, he said, all features of the safety measure have been taken care of.

Mr. Narayansamy said the government will ensure that all possible safety measures are followed as it is very much concerned about the safety of people living around the plant.

He also said that the Prime Minister has already constituted committee of experts which is going through all the safety aspects of the Nuclear Power Plant.
