Full EC to visit West Bengal to take stock of poll preparations

The full Election Commission will visit West Bengal on Thursday to take stock of poll preparations for the next three phases of Assembly elections. The Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi and two other Election Commissioners V.S. Sampat and H.S. Brahma will arrive in Kolkata Thursday morning and will hold meeting with the representatives of the political parties and district and state administration. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the full Commission will hold review meeting with the District Magistrates, Police Superintendents, DIGs, IGs of Police and Divisional Commissioner of seven districts – Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore, Bardhaman and Maoist infested West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia which will go to polls in fourth phase. The team of the Election Commission will also meet the top brass of the state administration – Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director General of Police tot take the stock of election arrangements for remaining phases.
