In Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, the agitating students, who have been warned of rustication, said they will continue their 35-day-old protest. The students, however, said they will not be deterred by the warning and will continue their strike which started on June 12, till the government responds to their demands. <br/><br/>Agitating students also got support from several film celebrities though some of them have said that Chauhan should not be prejudged before he takes up his job. TV actor Gajendra Chauhan said that he has been appointed by the Government of India and it is for the Government to decide whatever will be the course of action in future.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, strong opposition is coming up against 34 days old strike of Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. Working and former employees of FTII have formed the Save FTII Committee . The committee alleged in a press conference in Pune today, that the strike is unwanted and it reflects adamant nature of the students. Committee also alleged that some of the students are here in FTII from so many years. They do not want to leave the institute. <br/><br/>They want to run the institute as per their wishes. That's why they have started this agitation. Mr. Ramesh Puranik and Sanjay Chandekar of Save FTII Committee also said that resolution has been passed in a meeting of FTII employees association against the strike of the students. <br/><br/>Warning of disciplinary action and rustication was also given to the striking students on Wednesday by Director FTII D J Narain. On the other hand, FTII Teachers Association has sent letter to the ministry requesting it to take steps to end the current impasse as it is affecting the academic activities of the institute.
